More than 1,700 young residents of Płock will be able to spend their holidays this year in Płock. For the organization of events, financial resources amounting to almost PLN 100,000 zł. will donate to the Foundation “Grant Fund for Płock”. Today, symbolic checks were given to eight non-governmental organizations whose projects received the best competition evaluation.

As every year, in the second half of June, the “Grant Fund for Płock” Foundation settles the contest for the most interesting projects concerning the organization of free time for children remaining in the holiday homes. Larger than in previous years, the interest in the competition meant that the authorities of the Fund decided to increase the budget of the competition from the planned PLN 80,000.

This year, the amount of funds previously allocated by the Grant Fund for Płock, exclusively for holiday projects will exceed half a million. This time the Foundation will support periodic activities, for example in the field of astronomy, robotics, as well as regular day camps with a cultural or sports program. In the previous six editions of the competition, nearly 9.5 thousand participated. young inhabitants of Płocanów.

The project is aimed at children and young people aged 5-16 and will consist of magic workshops, robot programming workshops and a holiday sports day. The project will end with the Night Time Machine – an open-air event with the participation of Kazimierz Szymeczko, the author of books on historical topics, including the series “Happened in Poland” and “And this is history”, or witty stories, in which it presents the most important events and figures from the history of Poland. Classes will take place in the 12 branches and the Audiovisual Collection Department and the Library for Children and the main building and garden of the Płock Library.

 

Revita Foundation

“Animations in the Old Town”

The project includes games and animations for children in the Old Market, held for 10 weeks, one day a week, in the afternoon. Each meeting will be devoted to a selected topic concerning, among others safety in the water, safety on the road and first aid.

 

Association Kultura 

“NoveLato in Płock 2018”

The project provides for the organization of a half-circle for 135 children aged 5-10 years staying during the holidays in Płock, in the form of three five-day stays, each of them will take place in NoveKino Przedwiośnie. The first stay starts on July 16. The program provides for film screenings, a theater performance, a visit to the Płock Zoo and the Kazimierz Górski stadium, as well as various workshops and lots of good fun for outdoor games and integration games.

“Holidays with stars”

The project assumes the organization of meetings with astronomy. As part of it, classes will be held at the Małachowianka astronomical observatory. They will be one-day workshops conducted in from 16.00 – 23.30 for a group of 10 students. Workshops will be repeated for 4 consecutive days, and the first will take place on 21 August.

 

Płock Academy of Handicrafts

“Ceramic summer”

The project is a holiday series of ceramic workshops addressed to children and young people who want to spend their free time in a creative and creative way. Participants will have a practical opportunity to learn about and experience one of the oldest techniques of artistic expression and craft, creating their own ceramic objects and sculptures. They will also take part in lectures on the heritage of artistic handicrafts and everyday aesthetics in the form of a meeting with an ethnographer at the Museum of Masovia in Płock. The workshop will be summarized by an exhibition of the workshop participants’ work and a ceremonial opening. Classes will take place from 6 to 10 and from 17 to 22 August.

 

Association of Academia Economica 

“Academia Robotica shows”

The project includes presentations in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence for children and youth. The meetings will have the character of active presentations, on which the participants, under the guidance of qualified instructors, will get the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the construction, programming and operation of robots from specialist LEGO® MINDSTORMS and LEGO® WEDO bricks.

The project is aimed at children and young people aged 5-16.

 

Master Kids Association Płock

“Football holidays with Master Kids”

The project concerns football camps addressed to children aged 7-12, and organized on one of the Płock eagles. The program will include football training as well as other attractions such as a play park, cinema or Zoo.

 

Association of Physical Culture Wisła Płock 

“Holiday meeting with handball 2018”

The project includes handball training and sports and educational activities conducted under the supervision of coaches and players of the Handball Section Wisła Płock S.A. Classes will be held two days a week starting from August 6, and physical activity will be accompanied by, for example, a joint movie tour.
